Kinds of Adjectives
A word which describes, identifies, modifies, or quantifies a noun or a pronoun is called as an adjective. In the phrase – A huge tower, the word ‘huge’ is an adjective as it is describing the ‘tower’.
The adjectives can be classified in following categories:
Possessive Adjectives
Demonstrative Adjectives
Definite Adjectives
Indefinite Adjectives
Interrogative Adjectives
A brief description of these subtypes is given below.
Possessive Adjectives: – The adjectives which are used to show the ownership or belonging of something (a noun) are called as ‘Possessive adjectives’. There are seven Possessive Adjectives. They are My, Your, Our, Their, His, Her and Its.
